Privacy policy
ChefPress respects the privacy of every reader. This policy explains what limited data we process, how we use it to run the site, and the choices you have when interacting with our recipes and stories.
Last updated: 16 January 2025
Information we collect
- Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically captures your IP address, browser type, and referrer when you load a page. We use these rotating logs to diagnose uptime issues and delete them within 30 days.
- Advertising signals. We render Google AdSense placements. Google may place or read cookies and use device identifiers to personalise or measure ads according to its own policies.
We do not run user accounts, newsletters, or payment processing, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal data.
How we use data
- Maintain site security, uptime, and fraud prevention.
- Measure aggregated page performance to improve content relevance.
- Serve contextual advertising to support editorial operations.
ChefPress does not sell reader data or combine it with third-party datasets outside of the AdSense services described above.
Managing your privacy controls
- Adjust cookie preferences and ad personalisation by visiting the Google Ad Settings page.
- Use your browser's private mode or clear cookies to reset ChefPress-specific identifiers.
- Block third-party scripts if you prefer to browse without advertising.
Data retention and security
Production infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud and secured with least-privilege service accounts. Operational logs automatically expire after 30 days. If we export aggregated analytics for analysis, we keep those datasets for up to 12 months.
Changes to this notice
We review this policy whenever we introduce new features or integrate additional services. Material changes will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
